How to change the rear brake pads

Your C30's rear brake pads will wear out quicker than the front brake pads. This happens with the S40, V50, and the C1 Mazdas as well.

Tools:

* Needle-nose pliers
* 7mm hex key (look hard... it's not easy to find)
* Brake caliper tool (free loan from Autozone)
* Brake cleaner
* Vice-grips (optional)







1. Release handbrake, jack up the car safely, remove the wheel


2. Remove this clip with needle-nose pliers



3. Remove the dust covers (there are two of them)



4. Remove the bolts using the 7mm hex key (again, two of them)



5. Once the bolts are out, you can wiggle out the caliper



6. Stuff removed so far



7. Find the right caliper tool adapter and position the tool like this



8. What you need to do is to turn the top handle clockwise, while securing the caliper tool by turning the nut (held by the vice-grips) counter-clockwise


9. After about a minute or two of turning, the piston should be down to a reasonable height



10. Clean the rotor and bracket with brake cleaner, reinstall everything (the pad with the clip is the one "inside"), and clean everything with brake cleaner again.


11. Done

ωραίος, μπράβο .... είδες πάντως που χρειάζεται ένα εργαλείο για να επαναφέρει το πιστόνι της δαγκάνας πίσω, για να μπει το νέο τακάκι !!!

Για τα μπροστινά τακάκια αλλάζει τπτ ?
